2. Hosting and delivery of the website
This website is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (“Cloudflare”). When you open a page, your browser necessarily sends technical data to Cloudflare’s servers:
- your IP address,
- the date and time of the request,
- the page or file requested,
- your browser type and operating system (user agent), and
- the page you came from (referrer), if your browser sends it.
Purpose: to deliver the website to you and to protect it against attacks and abuse.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, a legitimate interest in the secure and reliable operation of this website.
Retention: I do not store or analyse this data myself. Cloudflare processes it only as long
as necessary for these purposes (see Cloudflare’s privacy policy).
Cloudflare acts as my processor under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). Data may be processed in the United States. Cloudflare is certified under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission has adopted an adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR). Cloudflare additionally relies on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
This website does not set cookies and does not store any information on your device. Cloudflare may set cookies that are strictly necessary for security (for example to tell people apart from malicious bots). These don’t require consent and are not used for tracking.
4. Fonts and other content
All fonts, images and documents are served from this website itself. No content is loaded from Google or any other third party, and no analytics or social media plugins are used.
5. Contacting me by e-mail
If you e-mail me, I process your e-mail address and the content of your message to reply to you. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (a legitimate interest in answering enquiries) or, where your message concerns a possible contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. I delete the correspondence when it is no longer needed, unless I am legally required to keep it.
6. Links to other websites
This website links to external sites such as LinkedIn. Those sites are only contacted when you click a link, and from then on their own privacy policies apply.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data held about you (Art. 15),
- have it corrected (Art. 16) or erased (Art. 17),
- restrict its processing (Art. 18),
- receive it in a portable format (Art. 20), and
- object at any time to processing based on legitimate interest, on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21).
